A widow who, with her deceased husband, owned two businesses. Over the course of several years, the accountant retained by her husband failed to file the business and individual returns for eight years and suddenly died, which resulted in more than $75,000 in unfiled and delinquent taxes, interest, and penalties. Regrettably the husband passed and left the widow to negotiate with the IRS. The widow retained the MNB Meridian and a tax account. Over the course of two years, the MNB Meridian “team” was able to negotiate with the Service to turn in their debt into a $25,000 refund.
