A Department of Defense agency proposed the removal of a senior civilian employee for meeting with Congressional committee staff, “pushing back” on hiring practices, for “failure to follow instructions,” and for allegedly asking a fellow employe to lie. The proposed removal was in retaliation for being outspoken and attempting to hold the employee’s senior executive service supervisors accountable. MNB Meridian Law attorneys assisted the employee in responding to the proposed removal with emails, documents, and other independent evidence refuting the supervisor’s allegations. The Agency Deciding Official agreed with the employee and dismissed the proposal removal, and the employee placed in another office pending a decision on the employee’s retaliation and EEO complaints.
